Vermouth

Vermouth is fortified wine that has been flavoured with herbs, spices and barks. The added extras are infused, distilled or macerated into the distillate, and there are generally three styles; dry, sweet (white) and red. Apart from the pre-requisite of dry vermouth in a martini cocktail, the others can be mixed with tonic or gingerale, or added to various other cocktails.
