The fruit for this appellation is drawn from thirty-nine villages/communes in the northern, hillier, more schist-dominated part of the region. So? So the fruit quality is better than generic Beaujolais, the sites likewise, the winemaking practices ditto. A firm yet tender wine, soft but sturdy, pushing ripe grape flavours and cherry notes gently upon you in an uplifting, satisfying style.
