The Sacred Hill tale is one of innovation, commitment and skill. A passion for making wine drives this winery, creating hand crafted wines that maximise the unique vineyard sites while embracing technological innovation in the winery. Ranges: Sacred Hill, Sacred Hill Wine Thief and Sacred Hill Special Selection
Winemaker: Tony Bish
Winemaker Profile
Tony Bish joined Sacred Hill back in 1985 and since then he has proven himself capable of making outstanding wines from all of the traditional varieties, having won awards for reds and whites across the Sacred Hill range. While he humbly credits the 'excellent vineyard selection I now have to play with', anyone who can win a gold medal for all three of the Chardonnay's they produce, as Tony did in 1998, is probably being a bit backward in coming forward.
The key thing here is that the praise, both critical and commercial, is across the whole range of Sacred Hill wines, proving that they walk their talk when they say they 'want to make high quality, great value wine, no matter what the price point. Tonys philosophy: to consistently deliver wines of value, quality and character, irrespective of price.
